Loud Movie Demo Night #6 came only two weeks after #5, mainly due to the roaring success of that demo and the numerous requests we got from those who were unable to make it and wanted to experience Loud Movies. Despite one of the two weeks being dark for us due to SIGGRAPH, we were still able to add three new films and realtime Dancy content, redo the intro, and Allen was able to give the musical transitions and interstitial songs the attention that they needed to create a more coherent flow to the evening. This event was the second to use the wireless headphones contributed by our Partner Sound Off, and was a huge success in no small part due to them.

This was by far the most complete iteration of Loud Movies to date, with over an hour of films, transitions, busked lasers, lights, and visuals driven by a seamless blend of DJ’d music. From here we are going to focus on solidifying the tech stack so that we can add more lights, lasers, and Dancy content to the next demos. The next phase of our R&D is going to center around realtime rendering and interactivity – the eventual hope is to make it so that all of the video content is rendered live, but initially we are going to focus on Dancy and the lasers.

The next demos will be during the Brewery Art Walk on October 5 and 6, with a full-scale show on the evening of the 5th.
