Demo Night #5 was the first time that we felt like we got a real glimpse of what a Loud Movies show could look and feel like. While it was still invite-only for friends, potential Partners, and Contributors, this demo night had the largest audience to date. This was a seamless show that blended between each film and realtime generated content on the LED floor with live operated lights and lasers. This was also the first event where the music was properly beatmatched and seamlessly mixed, a feat made possible by Pete‘s creation of a Touch Designer app that can read the data from Pioneer’s Pro DJ Link and convert it into Art-Net timecode for Beyond. This was also the first demo to feature wireless headphones from our Partner Sound Off – without them we would not have been able to have this event without disturbing the neighbors of the studio that we are working out of.

Some of the audience had seen earlier demo nights, but for many it was the first time experiencing a Loud Movie event, and to say the reaction was overwhelmingly positive is an understatement. There were so many requests for us to throw another one that we will be doing the next demo in just two weeks from now on August 10.

This show represented the culmination of months of R&D and effort, and was the first time that we were able to present Loud Movies without caveats. The audience experience is beginning to take shape, with different people finding their own ways to enjoy the show – some danced, some stood, some sat, and most moved between all three. In every way this demo night was a ‘coming out of stealth’ moment for the Loud Movies project, and we are eager to build on this momentum and bring the first real shows to venues soon.
