Loud Movie Demo Night #2 took place in a small office leased by The AV Club. This was a small focus group setup to get initial reactions from some ‘friendlies’ due to there only being enough room for a TV, some lights, and 6 or so chairs in the office. The small size of the room led to this being a pretty loud and impressive demo despite only having a small handful of films ready to show. The initial reactions were phenomenal, and the feedback provided by those who came is proving to be incredibly helpful in guiding the next development sprint as we continue to scale and expand the palette of Loud Movies.

This demo raised many issues that we intend to tackle during our next 4-6 week sprint; the most important revelation is that we need to start working on the connective tissue between the films to create a coherent overall experience. Right now there is silence between each film and no real sense of an overall theme or tone, we need to experiment with ways to make the evening flow more coherently. The one aspect of Loud Movies that we have been holding back on is defining the audience’s manner of enjoying the show – the first two demos were seated but we have theories that some people will prefer to stand or even dance to the movies. This audience experimentation is something we intend to add as soon as we can, but we want the audience to drive this aspect; at most we hope to guide it but it will be up to them to decide how to enjoy this new type of immersive experience.
